FAVOR TO ASK OF YOU

I previously sent out this email to you all about a month ago and THANK YOU so much if you have already contacted CMS and Congress.  If you have not, please do so as soon as you can.  Also, please spread the word around because this will affect not only payment but access to care.

With as bad as 2020 has been so far, the entire medical profession is being hit with a large reduction in payment for services from Medicare beginning Jan. 1st 2021. Physical Therapy and many other disciplines are projected to be affected with an average 9% reduction in payment from CMS/Medicare. I am asking a HUGE favor of all of our Friends of Physical Therapy Advantage. Will you please contact  Congress and CMS/Medicare directly? Also, please spread the news to all your family and friends, especially your parents, grand parents, aunts and uncles who all utilize the Medicare system. This will affect them greatly as many health care providers will be either choosing not be a Medicare provider or worse, closing their doors. This will affect access to care for all Medicare users.

Submit comments to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop the 9% payment cut:It is very important that everyone submit comments to CMS in response to the 2021 Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule, which includes the proposal to cut payment to physical therapy by an estimated 9%.

Tell CMS that it must stop the 9% cut to physical therapy. APTA offers publicly accessible template letters for PTs/PTAs/students and patients to use to submit to CMS via APTA’s Regulatory Action Center.
