Weekly Cup of Joe - Episode #38 – Gratitude

Read the transcript for this video:

Good morning and welcome to your Weekly Cup of Joe. My name is Joe King. I'm the owner of Physical Therapy Advantage in North Aurora. and I want to say thank you for joining us this morning and apologize for the little bit of a hiatus we've had the last couple of weeks. So I have not put anything out recently but want to get back on track for now. So one, to talk to you today about something mentioned maybe earlier on with one of my first vlogs that we've done, we talked about gratitude. It's a concept that I've learned over the last three to five years. It's probably had the biggest impact of my life is just being thankful and being grateful for more things and just trying to have that perspective on life. So one of the activities that I do on a regular basis is I use a gratitude journal.

So gone through a few of these already over the last three years, four years that I've been doing it. I used to do it three times a week., and now I'm just down to once a week. Seemed like I was repeating things quite frequently, so I wanted to be more meaningful when I was writing things down. And what I do is I pick a day and it's typically Mondays, and I just write three to five things down that I'm feeling grateful for, that I am thankful for that are good things in my life. And sometimes I'm writing concerns down and, and everything else, but most of the time, it's just three to five things that I am truly grateful for the week personally, professionally, whatever it may be, what's ever truly on my heart and on my mind. So I want to challenge you to really think about being more grateful, changing that mindset, having that perspective in life, and really finding out what you would think for each day, each week, and really reflecting on that.

So if you can start to do that, put it on your calendar; that's the most important part of it, you'll have a lot of success and I think that you'll find some really nice value in doing it, and you might start changing that perspective and things might look a little more positive and you might not be always looking on the negative side because you're thinking of all the things that you are grateful for in your life. So if you have any questions about that or anything else, physical therapy related, you can definitely contact us at physical therapy advantage at (630) 892-8003. Hope you're out and join some of this beautiful weather that we're having. So I would be doing this outside today and look forward to talking to you next week for your Weekly Cup of Joe. Bye.
