Weekly Cup of Joe - Episode #31 - APTA Website - Community Resource (1 of 2)

Read the transcription for this video:

Good morning and welcome to your Weekly Cup of Joe. My name is Joe King. I'm the owner of Physical Therapy Advantage in North Aurora, Illinois. I'm here today, I wanted to start a two-part series here on community resources well for anybody really because this is reaches all over, but definitely, obviously we always wanted to be a community resource for the Fox River Valley where we live and serve here. But one of the things I wanted to highlight was the American Physical Therapy Association, our parent national organization that we belong to--- as most physical therapists I should say do---- has a great resource called choosept.com. And when try this a little different on my blogs, try to use a video screen to record a video screen here or look at the computer screen.

So hopefully it comes out decent enough. but I will put the link to this website below so you'll have that access to that resource, but it's called choosept.com. It's a community-based website that has, rationales on why you'd want to choose a physical therapist over other alternatives, whether be surgeries, injections, medications. There's a link at the very bottom that you can locate a physical therapist in the area that might be dealing, or it might be a specialist in treating your condition that you're looking to get help with. There's also a tab at the top called Symptoms and Conditions that you can click on. And it gives you a list of different symptoms that you might be experiencing and conditions that you might be dealing with as well and give you a little all basically definition, description of them and so you can understand them a little bit better. So it's a great tool to have. You can obviously let anybody else know about it, and spread the wealth about what it can do.

So hopefully you gain some knowledge from this and you can research anything and help out other individuals. So if you do have any other questions or specific questions about what you're dealing with, please don't hesitate to give us a call at (630) 892-8003. And we look forward to here seeing you next week on your Weekly Cup of Joe. Bye.
